Purpose
SODA (Studio of Decentralized Architecture) is a multidisciplinary nonprofit design studio dedicated to expanding access to architecture for communities that have been historically overlooked or underserved.
We work at the intersection of architecture, research, and social impact, partnering with local and global organizations to shape spaces that reflect community identity, cultural narratives, and long-term resilience.
SODA operates as an open collaborative platform, bringing together architects and designers from various firms to support community-centered projects. As a nonprofit, SODA reinvests every resource into mission-driven projects. (Why a nonprofit?)
Our work ranges from early-stage research and community engagement to full architectural strategies for civic, cultural, educational, and humanitarian environments.
We believe great design should not be a privilege — it should be a shared tool for empowerment, dignity, and collective imagination.
