Trees for Houston is a non-profit organization in Houston, TX dedicated to promote, plant, and protect trees in the Greater Houston Area. Their goal for this project was to finally build a permanent home that translated their mission into architecture. The site was the most important aspect of the project for TFH. The existing site was a previously developed tract of land that lacked any vegetation and was completely covered in either concrete or asphalt. The TFH staff wanted a work environment that was completely immersed in nature, with views of trees from all the public spaces.
