Project 540

Client: Confidential

Role: Design Architect

Location: Houston, TX

Area: House 1-2,700 SF, House 2-1,600 SF

Status: On the Boards

Located on the east side of Houston, just outside the I-10 corridor, this 8,900-square-foot residential lot sat vacant for over 15 years due to its unconventional geometry and restrictive building setbacks. These constraints effectively split the parcel into two triangular sublots referred to here as Sublot A and Sublot B presenting a unique design challenge within an otherwise established suburban context.

Sublot A houses a two-bedroom residence with a dedicated office, suited for a family working remotely. Sublot B contains the main family home and an adjacent secondary flexible unit , which includes a garage, a generous bedroom/meeting space and an office/library space. Though separated by program, the two buildings are connected by the entry.
